Re: Bivvy a month 2015

Those Tesco mats are a pain in the arse to carry. Currently mine ends up rolled up inside the tent and then strapped to the bars, but it's bulky as owt.

Re: The post man's been ...

Parcelforce very kindly left the boxes containing my CRC bike bag, SKS Raceblades, neoprene overshoes and Lezyne pump in the unlocked porch. Good to know that they completely ignore the request to leave it with neighbours. This is despite them sending me a text this morning, in the style of DPD (the...

Re: Next year, I will ....

My main focus for next year is getting ready (or as ready as I'll ever be) for the Outlaw Triathlon in July. So plenty of cycling miles to be done, alongside swimming and running. Want to make sure the mountain bike gets used a fair bit in that prep though, so hopefully get out on my first proper bi...

WTD: Cheap bivvy and tarp

Fancy having a go at the bivvy/tarp way of life, but don't want to spend much (at least initially) incase it's not for me. So if anyone's got something suitable for a first timer to have a go with, let me know!

Put me down as a maybe for now, heavier weight fabric. Might be a 30th bday present to myself

Re: WTD - DSLR Camera

I've got a cheaper one available, though it's a good few years old. Canon 400D currently running 400plus providing loads of extra features (intervalometer, spot metering etc). Doesn't do video, not particularly high res compared to today's standards but it does decent photos

Re: The post man's been ...

A fellow diver, ace. Let me know if you are ever over Torbay way as I have all my kit down there but hardly ever seem to get in, Yay, another diver :-) I will mate, if I ever get down that way. I'm a diver as well. Which reminds me, I need to finally get round to sending my drysuit off for a new se...

FS: Garmin Forerunner 910XT multisport watch + HRM

Bit OT, but looking to sell my Forerunner 910XT multisport watch. Includes the Garmin HRM, and a Decathlon ANT+ speed/cadence sensor. Had the watch for about a year, but not seen masses of use. The HRM has been used once and the strap has been washed since.

Looking for £200 posted for the lot

Re: 2015 Planning

I'm going to see if I can get the time off to be able to do the WRT, but that'll be about it, at least up until the summer as my main focus is going to be attempting to get into shape for the Outlaw triathlon at the end of July

Re: Getting away from traffic !... and green lanes

Did a lot of greenlaning when I was in Wales. Responsible drivers would avoid boggy areas, tracks in poor condition etc in order to ensure they didn't make things any worse. Also limits on the number of vehicles in a group to minimise disruption to other trail users. As with anything, it's the numpt...

Re: The post man's been ...

Not from the postman, but collected from the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative in Byker yesterday. My new cycle to work bike, even though due to having a van for work that is kept at home I can't actually cycle to work. I've been wanting a bike more suited to road-based camping trips, and for general da...

Forgot to mention, it's currently running 400plus. Adds some nice stuff like spot metering, software intervalometer etc
