Re: buffalo alternatives
The only alternative I've found is the Keela made army issue smock, which may well be the one you've tried. Other than that I've looked everywhere for an alternative and found nothing affordable .

Wheel build help.
I'm currently looking to buy spokes for my new wheel build, but they are generally about 2mm diameter and the spoke hole diameter of my hubs is 2.5mm, does this matter?
Also, any ideas about the best place to buy spokes?
Many thanks
Ben.

Re: Indian Pacific Wheel Race
Mike and Kristof are clearly off the front now, Kristof is definitely riding faster but Mike seems to be sleeping less, which strategy will win out? Must be bizarre to be 100km behind someone on what seems like a perfectly straight, slightly downhill road. Does anyone here have any experience of tha...

Re: rodies beeing soft about disks again
This wound me up to a ridiculous degree when it happened, not helped by my reading the comments on Roadcc etc. I've seen more than 1 test involving a shoe and a rotor now and none of them have come even close to cutting a shoe like in the picture and yet the idiocy persists

Re: New 29er fork?
My new Cube has Manitou Minute forks and first couple of rides feel good, smooth, relatively light (1.7kg for 120mm 15mm bolt through) and pretty basic (just like me!), they even stood up well to hitting a car which pulled out on me

Re: Games you play in the saddle!
I do maths
I find it quite enjoyable to do rough distance unit conversions in my head (if the GPS is in miles convert various relevant distances to Km or vice versa) or work out what fraction/percentage through the route I am etc etc etc, I imagine this is not for everyone, though .

The cleat on the sole of my shoe, either with it on my foot, or if it's really hard ground then take it off and use it as a hammer.

Re: Winter headwear and bothy slippers
The only thing I can comfortably wear under my helmet is a headband (i have an Aldi merino one) as I find even a buff makes my helmet feel too high up on my head. The headband keeps my ears and forehead warm and I find that my helmet and hair is insulating enough on the top of my head.

Re: Fargo set up assistance - Tiagra hydro
Ian's right, the new tiagra 10 speed (with the shift cables under the bar tape) shifters and mechs are the same cable pull as Shimano 11 speed road stuff, not the old 10-speed road stuff, because why make things easy?
