Swift service from Alpkit, got my hands on a medium Fuel Pod for stashing the camera' in when out and about and I've also made my first titanium purchase, the new Kelvin.

Re: Todays ride

Rode 27 miles (3500ft climbing) from the front door in search of snow. In the hills behind Conwy got to ride in 2-4 inches. Weather was a bit pants in places, heavy squally showers, melting snow, very cold watering which meant I had very cold wet gloves and boots. And to top it off the gentle return...

Re: should i tarp or tent?

I've only tarp'd it a few 4-5 times but it offers another overnight experience. Yes being in a tent is great when the weather is pants but if its a dry(ish0 night then a tarp is great. As Chew said, it for those moments that stay in your mind and makes the trip even more worthwhile seeing the sights...

Re: Next year, I will ....

As I ticked the bivvy a month this year I'm not going to religiously go out and bag them in 2015, but I'll still get some in. So the plans plans are a social Ford fiesta, and I wouldn't mind a multi day fat bike trip somewhere. I might even give the Welsh C2C a go and the BB200 and WRT. I'll also li...

Re: Flat pedals

Buuuut, and this is the witchcrafty bit I don't understand, what keeps your foot on the pedal over rough terrain? I've also been an SPD type but since I got the fat bike I've been on flats. It does feel surprisingly stable when going over the rough stuff. I don't think I'd ever put SPDs on the bike...

Cheers guys for a great weekend. Was good to finally ride with so many of you. Never bothered weighing mine. Its a fat bike so its got a 'bit more' to it than the other bikes. As its heavier it'll give you a better training ride than riding a 23lb carbon race bike.
