Looks like he's a Scratch now

Given previous pace, are we thinking Angus and Huw have passed FA yet?

Re: Reilly bikes look really nice

Isn't it just two triangles welded together? Yep  Don't wish to be a pedant, but isn't it 3 triangles welded together? The back wheel goes between 2 of them, but viewed side on they look like a single one, so it's 50% more complicated than just 'two triangles welded together' You are, o...

Re: HT550 Grand Depart - May 2022

how can it be seen as an advantage ? not taking one saves weight?? Not sure a component fail during the race should mean disqualification [ assuming you can prove you did the route] The theory was that it can be an advantage if you are racing as your competitors have no idea where you are, where/wh...

Re: HT550 Grand Depart - May 2022

Good question.... Not sure I've ever heard any 'ruling' on what happens if your tracker breaks or is lost and it's happened plenty of times - test of reasonableness? There seems to be a bit of a debate going on about their use over on that Bikepacking.com as it allows spectators to ID where riders ...

Re: HT550 Grand Depart - May 2022

How would that be against the rules? I made a phone call to see if they are open... I think its because the way you worded it made it sound like something pre-arranged specificly for you rather than something available to all other riders. Aye, that's the way I read it. I though that any form of pr...

Re: HT550 Grand Depart - May 2022

Looks like Guy has spent a fair while on the Northern loop, wonder what the trail conditions are like. I also see that Hugh Oliver is doing a packrafting trip round the lochs south of Suilven. It's been pretty constant light rain for a couple of days now. That annoying type. Some trails around here...

People who have signed up to Eventbrite will have received the actual route others might be sharing routes from the route I shared when I plotted it probably half cut last year :-)

Re: #jennride 2022 28/29th of May

Surely if it's a gpx track that has actually been ridden and recorded then it'll show the "one true way"? I've spent some time in OSM tidying up when mapped tracks are inaccurate. Is the problem with folk/programs trying to create turn-by-turn routes from recorded tracks?

Does anyone have the gpx for it or is that in the emails  Colin... so is it gonna be a super hard ride this :o My understanding is that routing has been impacted by the number of fallen trees, somewhat limiting the options. I've seen a couple of photos/read some comments but other than that,...
