Re: Dynamo lights

The anker charger units are great. I have one of the 15000mAh ones (http://www.amazon.co.uk/15000mAh-Portable-Ultra-High-Capacity-External/dp/B00D5T3QK4/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1384961810&sr=1-3&keywords=anker+charger) It has enough juice to charge GPS and Phone about 8 ti...

Re: Bike Building Course

I recognised you on their instagram feed! I was supposed to be starting the advanced course today, but due to a quiet spell with work, I can't afford it. Though they have been vaguely exciting and let me keep my deposit towards another course next year. So I'll be there at some point next year. Can'...

Re: OT-winter/indoor hobbies

Not making bread then? ;) Jokes! Yes, I do bake bread, sometime in the house, sometimes in the cob oven out in the field, about once a week. Most of my hobbies seem to be outdoors. I guess that's a result of working indoors, I always want to be outside as much as possible. I also recently learnt ho...

Re: Mapping?

I bought Route Buddy, and wish I hadn't, it's really fiddly and tricky to use, and slow to load tiles etc. The only thing I can see it being useful for is joining/splitting routes. I use http://ridewithgps.com/ for all my route planning these days. If i need OS for reference, I use bing maps and cho...

Re: 2013 BB 200 - Entry List

Dave and Gareth came in after myself, andrew and neil. We used the clock in the Tipi, but afterward I noticed the time on my garmin was earlier than the clock said, and i looked at the garmin a while after we got back. We were stupidly tired! My strava elapsed time registers 20h 32m, so all three of...

Re: The BB 200 Thread

That was an amazing ride. Still a bit lost for words, but I really enjoyed it overall! The "Grassy Banks" at the end were pure evil, but I made it up. Finished in 20h 32m, which I was happy with! Was great to end up riding as a group with Andy and Neil, thanks for the company for the entir...

Re: Setting up tubeless?

Some non-UST specific tyres will work, though I've had little luck with any, the bead tends to be weaker, so doesn't lock so well to the rim. Watch some of the video on youtube about setting it up, using soapy water etc. Having access to an air compressor makes the whole process a lot easier. It's a...
