Re: Eccentric Bottom Bracket
Anyway, next step is to try and get the old PF EBB out, then find something that might last a bit longer than this piss-poor Problem Solvers junk; any recommendations? We designed a PF EBB which we have made for us by Rideworks. You'll find bearing wear is much better than the PS one as the ground ...

Re: Trump steel and aluminium tax >>> bike prices?
As far as I'm aware, the new levy is on 'unfinished' raw material. When this very same tax was tried in the (George W) Bush era, most large scale stockholders and importers could avoid the levy by simply including an additional line on the import documentation. This could be as simple as trimming si...

Re: Anker cell - thru-charge?
I see. I'm just figuring out some stuff and this thread seems relevant. I have one of the new Sinewave Beacon headlights which has a built in USB charger output but also an external power source input. So as far as I can tell I can attach 2 cables to the powerbank which will allow me to keep the cel...

Ok, Cheers. So do most of these cells (powerbanks) have separate inputs and outputs?

Re: Anker cell - thru-charge?
Sorry for the doofus question but when you talk about through charging what does this mean? That the cell s being charged at the same time as something is drawing power from it?

I had a chat with the guy behind this last week :

there's scant information on the website but some of the figures he was talking about seemed pretty impressive. I'll see if I can dig out some more info.

Re: Trillion/Shand merger/Partnership?
And the reasons I want a Shand is the smallish numbers and hand made frames, amongst other things. That's not really going to change. We'll still be building all our bikes the same way. Our capacity will increase to deal with production of the Trillion frames and perhaps other projects but the Shan...

I'm sure it's not what you're looking for but my favourite bike at the moment is the Tern GSD. I had a shot of one finally at Eurobike and it's freaking great!

What are you actually looking for?
Tapered steerer, 485mm ATC, 51mm offset, 15mm bolt thru, 100mm spacing? What else?

Re: would you do this?
Are those forks not designed for an integrated headset (bearing sits in the frame, not a cup)? The fact that the taper of the 'crown race' (it's not btw) happens to fit the internal taper of the bottom CK bearing is just a coincidence I think.

With this in mind, does anyone, other than Salsa, actually make a drop bar mountain bike, off the shelf? Re: TDR 2017
My understanding with Rickie (and Lee) was that they were never in it really to compete at the pointy end. To be honest I was surprised to see them included in the mass start. They've been making a film through all of this and I suspect that riding 100% in the spirit of the route as a race was never...

Re: Thu axel hub Dynamo question
Everyone keeps telling me the 15mm front axles on our road/gravel bikes are outdated and we should be going to 12mm as that's much more suited for road. I'll stick with 15mm until I see a selection of 12mm dynamo hubs.

Years and years ago I got jiggy with a pair of Walshes and a beltsander to the sole. Went 1 size up and a mouldable skiboot insole. Anything Cage Mounts on front triangle??
Hi all,
we've had a few enquiries about having anything cage mounts on the front triangle of a couple of our bikes (under down tube? top of the downtube?) Is this a thing? We did it on a carbon frame but just because it was easy.
Wondering what the BB hive-mind have to say....
