Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
As we've kinda just touched on analogue, I'm hoping for a cheery Friday as this is coming tomorrow. Apologies in advance as it's now a certainty that the next 4 weeks will be very wet. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBV8IfVKgku1_x4Px0b-TxAmX62ahVS-HNon8MCTJ4Si4YSGZKDupiy...

Re: Pat Adams RIP
Wow, agree with a lot of the thoughts above. It was these events whilst uni that really got me into riding, I've done mountain mayhem many times in most team formats and there was just a great buzz at the events, I'm still using some of the event banners round the place for various things! I don't t...

Re: Winter Bivvy?
I appear to be tied up 16-17 now, can probs still make next weekend. There's some shelters (3 sides and a roof, but concrete floor) in Thetford Forest (you can see it from the red route), and indeed in their playground areas you could probs camp down somewhere. Could almost ride round during the da...

Re: Winter Bivvy?
We should maybe start its own thread then. I was thinking about contacting Wicken Fen to see if the basics campsite was available; open sided shelters, a fire pit and a composting loo. Meet at Cambridge Station, do a bit of a ride, camp, brekkie at Maglia Rosso, then either back to Cambridge or Bur...

Anyone from the flat lands fancy an East Angular Winter Bivvy...? Boab...I'd be up for that assuming dates work out. I've always enjoyed the winter bivvy, although last years welsh one got snowed off... Anyway, I'm in East Anglia (Bury St Edmunds way), be interested in tagging along. Have to say, t...

I have a White Geneiss Croix de Fer, QR and I'm fairly sure it's 54cm. If it's no rush, I'll check the specs and post some photos etc - won't get a chance until next weekend as I'm away at the moment.

Following a cracking weekend at Santa Pod, this weekend will see me heading to north Wales because Dee fancies a new bike ... a modern version of her existing 40 odd year old one. New doorway into the barn is also coming along but rain has pretty much stopped play for the day. https://storage.kawas...

Yes, still available.
Full clarity (AFAIK) on compatibility, this is for exped mats WITHOUT the integrated pump. I don't own an exped mat and don't know much about them so can't help much on specifics!

Re: Wtd 110 and 148 boost hubs or wheels.
29er? I have my stock Bontrager wheels from a trek procaliber (2018) that are 29, boost, 24mm wide rim. centre lock disc mounting, shimano HG. A few stone chips and scuffs, one very small ding on the rear wheel I think - but they still ran tubeless fine. They're taped up and with tubeless valves sti...

Re: Frame bosses (bottle / fork cargo cages)
I'm tempted to say that with bottle bosses, the weakest link won't be the bolt but more likely the integrity of the rivnut. I concur entirely. Generally speaking, I'd expect M5 to be fine on a bicycle for racks and bottles and stuff unless you're into cargo bike territory. I'd happily sit on a bicy...

Re: RIP my Dirty Harry - now what?
Really like my Trek Procaliber but not sure how easy it is to source the frameset. Brilliant bike though, the rear end is very comfortable. Planet X has the whippet? Me too. I actually bought the base level carbon procaliber as a fully built bike cheaper than the frame only option at the time! (The...
