Re: Hammock in the garden
I’ve seen somewhere, a pair of tripods - sort of similar to an easel - that support a long rail in the V’s at the top. The hammock is stretched out but tied to the rail near each end. This means that the tension of the hammock creates a compressing force on the rail, so doesn’t pull the trestles/ea...

Re: Off Topic. Tell me about 20" trials bikes.
Have you ridden a mod bike before? If not, they are not the most intuative, designed to be on the rear wheel 95% of the time. I've ridden 20, 24 and 26 over the years. Stupidly sold my 26 two years ago and bought a 24 - bad idea. Doesn't work for me TBH. I had a similar Interest a couple of years a...

Re: Gravelywanger frame options?
High and short stem good (ergotec high charisma!) but counter-intuitively, putting a layback post may help. Tom ritchey wrote a good piece for Sheldon Browns website yonks ago. In brief, the further back your erse, the easier it is to counter balance your arms and upper torso, reducing weight on wr...

No worries. Are they from a surly Wednesday? I thought I saw that in your original post. If they are and you decide to split then let me know. Would be interested as I have a surly Wednesday.

I used bar end shifters in the past. Front was fine but rear gears were a real struggle to change. I'm hoping the move away from bar end shifters and using quality cables will make the experience a more pleasant one

Nice one Ray. Good to get out. I was looking at your new set up. Have you got suspension forks and a modified rack on the back? Looks good

Re: Genesis Vagabond
I have a Genesis Vagabond. I've used various drop bars and it's now set up with Jones Loops. I liked it set up with salsa cowchippers when mixed terrain favoured road routes or easy off road and like it more with jones loops when routes favored technical off road routes. I'm leaning towards putting ...
