Re: What mags do you read?
Grew up reading MBUK since the age of 12. Still occasionally pick it up to read on the train... Usually then wonder why I bothered 30mins later. I'm biased, but Singletrack is one of the few magazines that I'll more often than not read the whole contents. Privateer has some excellent writing in, but...

Re: OS maps on touch?
Yep, I have GB outdoors on my iPhone, and it functions nicely. Prices seem to compare fairly well with the OS app as well. The 1:250 000 OS road map is free. Useful to have as a back up for checking "does that road lead where I think it might?" on road bike explorations in areas without de...

Great ride, thanks. Conditions were stunning. Snow under wheel, but rarely enough to make pedalling impossible. More words and pics here: http://projectenduranceracer.com/2013/0 ... kepacking/

Winter bikepacking in t'Dales.
Had a great couple of days out this weekend. Kept up the bikepacking tradition of sleeping in a playground too http://projectenduranceracer.com/2013/0 ... kepacking/

The route is actually Stuart Rider's of http://riderscyclecentre.com/. I'm sure he won't mind you using it, especially if you pop into the shop before/after!

A few mates and I are doing http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=pwrjyzcmspzjnyjfon the weekend. More road than we'd do in the summer, but trying to avoid the worst muddy/boggy stuff for now.

Thanks guys. Agree r.e. the drop-outs. Would love to do away with the tensioner. Might play about with magic ratios eventually.

Re: Cyclocross Bikes
That's lovely Ian :-) Although, my OCD side is in overdrive... Brake pads matched to logo, but no collar/cuffs on seatpost/stem? Tut, tut! Would look lovely with a polished Thomson stem too. Incidentally, I bought a Kinesis Pro6 in the Autumn. Love it and have used it for much more than just 'cross ...

Also testing a Wildcat Mountain Lion and Tiger. First trip with new set up will be in three weeks. Can't wait ...

Cheers chaps. Lets say I wanted to go a bit lighter, and something for Spring-Summer use. Is there anything more suitable than the PD400 for a similar price?

Advice please. What sleeping bag?
Evening :-) My old synthetic, "light" sleeping bag is well past its best, it's had a long hard life, so I can't complain. It was always a bit of a compromise though. It packed small, but wasn't warm, or very light really. I *think* my ideal bag will be: -Light -"Comfortable (ish)"...

Thanks Roy, thanks Mark.
Jack was right as well. I would rather have had more weight on the bike and either no pack, or a very light one. Might have a crack at some of the MYOG ideas.

Assume Kevin hasn't got round to sending his finish photo to Steve (or Steve is busy recovering and hasn't updated the website since Monday). I'm sure he'll get a time up. Jack... last orders were almost as important as getting a sub 36hr time! 3 pints of "Braveheart", with a hearty servin...

Great weekend, thanks again to Steve for organising. Thanks to Wixey for the great company over a big chunk of the ride.
