Re: If we close up for a bit...
It was on one of the Scottish mtb fb pages yesterday. Pretty staggering thing for a medical professional to say in my opinion, like enjoying it negates the exercise benefit?! Of course it just lead to a round robin of folks saying you shouldn’t be doing anything hardcore( the term “shred” was used a...

In fairness, he admits himself on the news this afternoon that it is the very small minority. Rather than threaten to ban us all from going outside, he should be ensuring those that are caught flouting the current rules should be fined as threatened. The obvious extension of that thought is, if he’s...

Re: Way off topic, Photoshop
Ideally you’ll need something that works with layers. Some of the open source design software might work too, just import both pictures and cut around the one of your son etc, if your not doing a lot of work on the actual pictures that could be an option. Something like Inkspace might work. It’s a v...

Re: Way off topic, Photoshop
Take a look at darktable, basically an open source version of Lightroom, the UI is almost identical.
If he’s using a tablet there actually is a free PS, photoshop express.

Re: Why On Earth Can't I Eject My GPS 64 From Mac?
Drag the gps icon on the desktop into the bin(which will turn into an old school eject symbol as you do). Once the icon disappears from the desktop it’s ejected, you can then just pull it out. This applies to any ext drive/sad card etc.

Re: Anyone out on Sunday testing gear/bike/self to destruction then?
This was yesterday, early eve on Cairngorm summit. A nice steady 35-45 down here in the village I reckon. Was gonna ride home to Grantown tomorrow (easy I imagine) and back to Aviemore on Tuesday( definitely not easy!!) might get the bus☺️ https://www.amazon.co.uk/photos/share/Rfcv5nuMzsW4lrU4O2PsSc...

Cool. If I get no joy in the next few days I will get back to you. Assume it’s hyperglide rather than a uni glide yeh?

WTD, freehub for an old Hope xc/bulb/Ti glide hub.
As per title, long shot I know but. I have a uniglide free hub but want be able to use a 10spd cassette. I have 2 hubs with the same(3 pawl) fitting, one uni glide one hyper glide? Obviously one fits, one doesn’t. I am happy to swap if someone is looking for an older freehub. Obviously if someone is...

I was out on the bike last night, turned off my lights for a while, for a view of the snow covered Cairngorms. Really bright shooting star right over Braeriach About 18:30ish?!
Always good to spend a little time in the dark on a night ride eh?!

I’ll second Colin’s Revelate recommendation, had one forever and it just works. Very stable, and I prefer a harness/bag rather then a permanently attached roll bag arrangement.

Re: Scot rail and their new carriages
Got the train to Inverness this morning. Not the carriages pictured, but it was new rolling stock and the bike rack was for hanging as it were, but tucked away rather than somewhere folks would put their luggage as there’s never enough space! Neater/better in my view. I’ll take a picture and(try to)...

I have been toying with getting a frameset for a while now, if it drops to £500 or less I could be very tempted. Not quite the same, but I had a Bush bash both and was really happy with it, I just got the wrong size! Light, stiff and was well made, never had any issues with it so wouldn’t have any r...

Re: DSLR bag for bike trips
As mentioned above, I have used an old Lowepro toploader for several years for dslr/mirrorless cameras. I use primes rather than zooms but could get a 35 or 50 in underneath a body/short lens. A 70-200ish would fit no problem. Used from Ffordes( https://www.ffordes.com/search/Lowepro ) is pretty cos...

Forecast looks ok, given the usual caveats. We have a uni group in until Tuesday so we have nothing. That said the one in Glenmore has space.
I don’t see the rivers being an issue unless we get rain again, which isn’t forecast as previously mentioned. Enjoy.

I suffer really badly too, I have MS so it plays havoc with my balance, cognitive function etc. I have bought a few Odlo Ceramicool baselayers over the past year. Originally it was as protection from midges, without too much insulation. The sales pitch mentioned cooling etc, I was pretty sceptical b...

I’ve got a Vango something or other, 3 person tent your welcome to borrow. Plenty roomy for 2, though pretty heavy if memory serves. I can get it out of storage if you have no luck finding something else. Let me know.
