The 650+ in the second photo, I built that I did. Currently sat in the dry and warm with a nice glass of red nursing my recently operated-on knee.

Re: Best Ever Saddle
I've also found the Bel Air comfortable on mountain bikes where my position is more upright and I move around more but I find narrower and minimalist saddles like Selle Italia Flites better on the road bikes where I'm in a much more aero position. I think there is a lot to be said for more flexible ...

Oh, and the El Guapo HDM clamp shown on the same page and a HDM front mech, sorry forgot that bit. God knows why they call it an El Guapo part as the EG comes with a 73mm BB.

AdMan Re the carbon fork bung product code FSPXFCENT does work, believe me, it has an aluminium sleeve which when removed fits the thicker wall steerer fine. Ask them to swap it.

Re: Trans Catalunya
Call me picky but I rather like the idea of a route that actually exists on the ground and I know it's splitting hairs but the entry fee is currently £240 for the next week. I'm sure I'll be doing a bit of pushing just to get value for money you understand  The cost questioning that is going o...

Re: Trans Catalunya
Fair comment re the cost but bear in mind it could be expensive to get to the start, there's no train link into the Pyrenees from the Spanish side. Yes, there are a couple of manned points on the route which may or may not coincide with needing to eat or sleep but it also needs pointing out that fin...

Re: Trans Catalunya
The event website has been updated quite a bit over the last week. There's now a 400km/4 day option as well now. The entry fee includes transfer from the finish to the start and pasta party on the evening before. This makes sense as there are far more flight options to Reus, Barcelona or even Valenc...

Ooh this looks very interesting, the map's a bit vague but it seems to finish about 20km from where we're going to live. Just got back from a week in the area, measuring up, sorting out local solicitor etc. Managed to get a few rides in, it was 20 degrees and clear blue sky on Friday. This year is a...

Re: Where do you WANT to live and why?
After several years refining our search for a suitable place to move to, we have hopefully found it. Situated about half way between Barcelona and Valencia, just north of the River Ebro Delta, there are 3 mountain areas, the El Port, Cardo and Priorat massifs are riddled with trails which the locals...

Selling my wife's Cannondale, she's used it for a couple of off road Duathlons and some touring. Can supply pannier rack. Frame size is 54cm and it is in very good condition. £500 posted or could meet to deliver within reason. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/79301762/Camera%20Uploads/2014-12-02%...

I also have fond memories of SN7889, almost 40 years ago I went motorbike trail riding with my father and a friend of his. They were on a Triumph Adventurer and a Yamaha DT250, being 16 I was on a Honda SS50 moped. The river crossing there was too deep for the SS50 and it drowned out, we picked it u...

Mine's 225.42 miles in 12 hours doing the National 12 Hour TT Champs. Beat my brother in law by 3 miles but pretty woeful compared to Andy Wilkinson who won with a then event record of 302 miles!!

You want the one designed for the Team Alu (now defunct) fork which is the right diameter once you remove the sleeve it comes with. [urlhttp://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FSPXFCENT/planet-x ... atty-fork)][/url]

Hi CHew,
I've got some spare fleegle pro 660 wide and my prototype OG's which are 710 both have 31.8 clamp size. You're welcome to borrow to try.

I really like the look of the Camino Del Cid in Spain, it runs for about 400 miles from Burgos to Valencia. I thought about doing a chunk of it this year but August was the only time I could make it and the heat made it a non starter. Definitely one for the early Spring or Autumn. The route is descr...

How to spot a Bikepacker if you met in the street?
Just having watched Stu's stove video, I'll start with inspect their right hand, if the hairs are missing or charred they've tried to light one too many meths stoves.

Hi Stu, Interested in replacing my Jetboil with one of these, you say it fits in the 750ml MyTi mug, the new 650ml is 95mm ID by 99mm height, do you think it will fit in this as well? I don't have the old one so can't compare dimensions. Sorry if it's been discussed earlier in the thread but cba to ...

I'm in the unique/fortunate position that my wife's bikes are probably worth more than mine, given that her passion is triathlon and carbon fibre. It's normally me who questions the cost vs benefit of buying the latest must have goodie.

Just got back from a week's holiday and have also received an empty envelope which just about sums up my feeble attempt at the event, however if there are a few spares still about, I'd be chuffed to get one. Cheers Stu

I've acquired the above from a mate who's emigrated. It had been sat doing nothing in his garage for at least 10 years, seems to be a 1995-96. I've given it a makeover and it's a good runner. Spec is LX gears with 3x8 speed gripshift, CODA chainset, Magura HS11 Hydraulic rim brakes in full working o...

Re: Your bb200 bike
I wouldn't agree with the reliability advantages of hub gears, I've run an Alfine 11 for 3 years and had nothing but trouble with it. I finally gave up a fortnight before the BB200 and replaced the lot with 2x10 XT. The fear with hub is that it can go bang in the middle of nowhere (Rohloff included)...
