Re: Debating a new bike, who's ridden fat and 29+ and 650b+
The last picture put me right off my cornflakes  Agree with majority of what Stu says, but I prefer 29+ for distance work, once up to speed it just keeps going. 27.5+ is tighter and more agile, better for the technical single track. However 29+ just used to make giggle due to the fact it stea...

Re: Revelate Harness
I have a Revelate Sling, basically an un-stiffened harness, and it works fine with my Jones bars. In fact the Harness might even work better as it has the bar spacers which my Sling doesn't. The only comment I would make is that if you plan on using a Revelate Pocket the front loop of the Jones bars...

Re: FS: Krampus rolling chases and 29+ bits
And just for the wheels including tyres? Would prefer to sell with frame but if Rob passes then £170 posted, £160 collected. Interested in the wheels also. Edit: Just looking into the frame and forks. You say 16" but surly sizing is 15 or 17". Is it a 17" but 16" C-C? If its a m...

FS: Krampus rolling chases and 29+ bits
Reluctant sale, but Mrs Brothersmith makes me operate a strict one in one out policy and the acquisition of a ti stooge means the Krampus has to go  Small swamp green Krampus frame and forks. Frame has had light use and been protected with heli-tape so there are very few marks. Its an incredibl...

£68 at Triton cycles
Its the fact the whole front end needs upgrading is the bit holding me off doing it, but on-one fatties do fit the Stooge geo nicely and would give tons of clearance for more normal (?) size tyres.

Question for Stooge owners
Ok, loving the new Stooge. So far I have run it with 27.5 x 3.25 front/27.5 x 2.8 rear and 29+ front/27.5 x 3 rear. I love the cush of the 3.25 but the role over of the 29+. Wondering if the Bontrager Hodag will give the best of both worlds, being the same diameter as 29+ but 3.8 (actually 3.5) wide...

I just built up a Ti Stooge, it takes std shimano hollowtech bb which just screw into EBB. I am sure Stu will be along shortly to confirm it's same for steel, but can't see why it would be different

Re: Talk to me about B+
Having ridden 29+ and more rescently b+ I would agee with all the above. I found 29+ to be a bit more controlled and have more of a steam roller effect on rocky descents (like going from 26" to 29" wheels). However the b+ I have is a 3.25 which has a much larger volume, which might account...

Glad to hear you got them ok Steve. I got my Ti Stooge curtasy of Bryan (Zigrat) and a lovely set of RaceFace Next SL cranks in CRC sale to put on it. Spent the day building it up, just need to fit longer brake hose and cut steerer tube. I am a very happy boy  https://farm8.staticflickr.com/77...

Re: Dual purpose bike advice
I am not sure i would go carbon if your thinking of adding racks, as your placing stresses on it its just not designed for with panniers. I can thoughrly recomend a Fargo though. Very capable rigid mtb and great tourer. I tend to run a 2.4 Chronical on a Velocity Blunt off road for a bit of extra cu...

Re: Talk to me about B+
Someone once told me that if you measure 330mm back from the centre axle (which is approximately where the center of the casing will be) and then measure the width between chain stays it should give you an idea of what you can fit.

Re: Talk to me about B+
As stu says rim width makes a huge difference and comparing a 2.35 with a 2.8 that has a narrow tread to allow retro fitting on rim under 40mm proberbaly doesnt tell the whole story. I found the table below to be quite accurate when deciding what rim to plumb for and would seem to fit with your meas...
