I also bought one of these from the tip in the bargain alert thread. Just checked it and mine has the pocket on the correct side.

Re: Jockey wheels for life
I've had problems with similar shaped jockey wheels. Mine were the cheap chinese kind though.
I dont know how, but I bent it. Must have hit it off a rock or something but I would have thought the cage spring would have provided a bit of shock absorbtion?

Re: CX bike suggestions
The different pull-ratios dont seem to be much of a problem. I have avid BB7 (mtb version) disc brakes on my cross bike with ultegra road shifters/brakes. Never had any bother with them, plenty of modulation and they dont rub. I do need to adjust them frequently but i'm not sure if thats down to the...

Re: Anyone not use a mtb for bikepacking trips?
As an engineer, the theory seems fairly sound to me. It's a truss at the rear triangle and pretty much a purely axial force, so shouldn't really be any bending across it. Looks like the MTB equivalent of a leaf spring! Aha, this makes more sense. At first glance i thought that was a picture of the ...

Re: Highland trail 550!!
Rich is offroute at the end of Glen Affric. Hopefully nothing serious. Looks like he just missed the turn, back on track now. which brings me on to something i'v been wondering: how are people navigating out there? All done by GPS with the gpx route loaded? I imagine that taking maps to cover the e...

I hope those that are still out riding, all manage to get in before the time limit is up. Depends on what Alans view of the cut-off would be. 2x the fastest time? Iona & Markus seem to be too far behind now. Still hard as nails for finishing as many others havent Rich has 2 (long) days left and...

Re: Please tell me about singlespeeds
I'm in Inverness too. Never ridden a SS off road, but i think i would struggle on it around here. I have a fixed gear road bike and i can power up most of the hills nearby which is fine for a couple of hours riding but i'd soon get tired doing that. The main benefit of a SS for something like the HT...

Also good ride from Gunther Desmedt, who I know on twitter. He was quite a way behind the front runners heading north, so to now be running 6th I think shows some good tactics in terms of slowly (relatively speaking) but surely. Yeah, he seems to be riding with one of my mates, Keith Bremner. He'll ...

The weather may be taking its toll. Andy Toop and Michael Greunert are offroute in Muir of Ord Phil Fraser is in Dingwall and Stuart Rider & Richard Seipp may be joining him. Dingwall and Muir of Ord are the closest train stations to that part of the course. So I guess they might be on th...

Re: Problem with Bikehike.co.uk
I had trouble with it last week as well, so i tried another my second option: bikeroutetoaster. That site was also broken with a message that google had updated the way people can connect to their maps and it needed most of the code rewritten. Could possibly be the same problem for bikehike. (It wor...

Re: Bikefitting
imho .. ride your bike and get comfy by adjusting to suit and not doing anything daft ie setting your bike up to look cool or be slammed etc. Ride it a lot, for a week day in-day out at least once. Do 12hrs on it. If you have specific pains, address them as they arise. Save money on a fitting sessi...

Re: Thumbie on drops?
If you have oversize bars, MTB bars taper much nearer the stem than road bars do, so you might not be able to get the shifters close enough in to the centre of the bars for comfortable shifting.

even with the H barrel adjuster all the way out the chain keeps catching the next cog on the cassette (under zero tension). In every gear or only the bottom one? Does an inbred have slot dropouts? If so, maybe the wheel (and therefor the cassette) is not parrallel with the frame? Cant really think ...

Re: 29er tyre suggestions please???
If you can find one (although it may not fit in your forks) a WTB Weirwolf LT in 2.55 flavour is a superb 29" tyre. Nowhere near as heavy as you'd imagine, fast rolling and plenty of grip. I had WTB ExiWolfs on my bike, they were excellent tyres with loads of grip, but they were huge! They rub...

I'v got schwable rapid rob tyres on my 29er. They are good tyres at an excellent price, but may be slightly too wide for you at 2.25?

I'm not too sure how to do it - i dont know much about HTML (or web design/layout in general)
Maybe try going to the location of the logo.png file (/styles/AZ_Retro/imageset/logo.png) and see if you can download it, change the size of it, and upload it again?

Oh, sorry, i misunderstood your post. If you have the .png named the same and saved in the same location, i can't think why it wouldnt work. You could make the changes i suggested in the meantime if you want a quick fix to stop the text overlapping the logo until you figure out how to get the new lo...

Find this line in the HTML:
It's in the "site-description" div.
Have a play about with the height value. (170 looks like a good size to me)
Code: Select all

Re: 29" rims?
Are 29er wheels that much weaker?? Not in my experience. I have a hardtail 29er with 32spoke wheels and never had any problems with them. I raced the strathpuffer24 on it in january and they are still true. I was around 14 stone at the time and the course is hard on bikes so they took a fair beating.
