OS getamap ?

I have just tried several times and given up on plotting a route on OS getamap. Why, because it keeps zooming out and jumping away from where I want to be for no apparent reason. Am I doing something wrong, is the system useless or am I just crap?

Re: 29er tyre suggestions please???

Hi Gairym, can't recomend a specific tyre as such but Chain Reaction Cycles seem to have a few tyres that fit you criteria, good delivery times too.

Is it ever alright to alter a trail?

I am miffed :x !!! In rock climbing circles you would never ever chip extra holds or alter existing holds to make climbing the route easier, it is strictly forbidden, totally taboo and just not done. In fact if you were caught doing such a heinous crime you would probably be strung up by the wotsits...

Re: Fork query

Hi Gairym, the fork I fitted is 425mm from the axle to top of the crown (top being where the lower bearing sits). With a 2.2 tyre fitted I have 35mm clearance so all being equal you should have 30mm clearance. What length fork is your frame adjusted to?, not that the on one fork will make a differen...

Hi s8tannorm, I am liking the down jacket but the mats a little heavy as you say. I've seen a POE peak elite AC 2/3 for £46 delivered, is this a good price?

Re: Roll up, roll up ... get them while they're hot!

My grandad had one of those - Always wondered where it came from but he'd been in a POW camp in Austria... it was still functioning well into the 70's (unlike his lungs in the end!) Yea, I remember mine being ultra reliable to, Zippo's always broke at the hinge plus the lighter fluid didn't evapora...

New kit advice please.

Sorry guys, you must get fed up of posts like this but I really would appreciate your input. I will soon have £200-£250 to spend on the following items. Sleeping bag, bivvy bag, warm jacket for apres ride and a sleep mat. They will only be used for bikepacking from spring to late autumn. Items that ...

Anyone experimented with crank lengths?

Just wondering if anyone has tried different crank lengths. All the mtb's iv'e bought seem to come with 175mm cranks. With my inside leg the Sheldon Brown says I should use a 165mm crank but that's for road use, off roaders should use slightly longer cranks for added leverage, that means I should be...

Re: Experience of rigid 69er conversions anyone?

Hi all, for various reasons I didn't get out for the ride i had planned but I did manage 3 off road circuits of Hollyrood park , about 3 3/4 miles(technically illegal but the wardens don't seem to bother you as long as you only ride around the outside). The ride height of the bike is about the same,...
