Re: Bikes on Virgin Trains

There are a few different types of bike storage areas but the newer trains now tend to have a space near the toilets to put your bike (some have a slot to put the wheel in like a cheap bike rack on the wall but i find it best to lean them up on the side of the carriage). I would chuck a lock through...

Re: Peak Bank Holiday Trip

Love it! Such a brilliant design, seemed like overkill compared to Chew's tarp but so light i was happy to take it. Also did really well in the IOM - loads of room for the three of us http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m196/oni-mo/iom%20april%205%202012/P4120604-Copy.jpg One night it was blowing a r...

Re: Slicks for a 29er...

It was the width that confused me, had been looking today and there were all sorts of tales of deformed tyre and cracked rims from trying to run too high pressures on MTB rims. As with anything im sure there are a few stories that exaggerate problems but just wanted to know how to work out to work o...

Slicks for a 29er...

In a bit of enthusiastic bike trip planning I have managed to book myself in to do the London revolution ride two weeks before the wrt, ideally something best done on a road bike - but time and funds mean I will be doibgit on my in-bred 29er. But to make it a painless as possible I think I should ge...

I Have a spare ticket put to one side for this, not a problem if I cant get anyone to use it but I thought I'd mention it anyway. http://www.thechimneyhouse.com/blog/ I am not a fanatical roady but am interested in training more effectively so think.this would be quite interesting - and it includes ...

Re: Bike Packing virgin needs an easy intro

I dont suppose you were eating/drinking lots of energy bars and drinks? - they make me feel rotten - something drinking water from streams has never done (I do try and choose carefully). The other thing that sometimes causes me problems is lack of caffeine - I have to try and wean myself off it befo...

I think i should clarify - i searched it because i saw an add for the new bottles of Caffery's in the paper. I don't read Packaging News for fun - or work for that matter! Although if Packaging news does it for some people who am i to judge!

Re: Communal Campfire Cooking....

Cant beat cooking on fires, and have to say taking a foil wrapped spud (or two smaller ones as they cook quicker) makes it even more rewarding - jacket spuds and stew next to a fire :-)

Our receptionist has kindly placed a parcel from deepest Wales on top of the mountain of medical records sat on my desk ..... the temptation to grab the parcel (a Shangri la 3 from Stu) and run to the hills is rather overwhelming .....

If you still have it - yes please, have just been out trying to find a tent for 3 that I can carry myself - and that would be perfect :D

And two small boys will be really happy they dont have to visit yet another camping shop tomorrow!
